More Autopilot Marketing

Last time I talked about putting your marketing on autopilot.   I’d like to visit with you about a couple of techniques for doing that.

Staying in touch with customers or prospects is time consuming.  It’s also tough to be disciplined about it.  Life gets busy, we forget to do it, and pretty soon our good habits disappear, followed by the new business flow.

So, why not automate some of this with a computer system?  Here I’m thinking about something called a Customer Relationship Management or CRM system.  What these systems can do is automatically perform contact functions for you based on criteria you set.

For example one of our bright, rapidly growing agency owners in OAA is using CRM to contact prospects every month with email.  He has 5 years of emails set to run to these prospects!  Now that’s what I call autopilot!  If one of the prospects becomes a customer, he kills the email series to them and starts a 5-year set of “customer nurturing” emails to them.  If he loses the customer (he rarely does – having lost only 7 customers out of 1,000 in two years!) he kills the nurture email series and starts the “we want you back” series.

So, how would you like to only think about marketing every 5 years?  Our agency owner told me that putting the emails together “was a little tedious.”  But he also told me that many of them were available in the CRM program he leases for $60 per month, so it really wasn’t that hard.

This is just one way to market to prospects and customers but it makes the point.  You can just as easily have the CRM program send direct mail.  You could have it send a contact list to a telemarketer every week for calling.  You could have it automatically schedule prerecorded voice messages (a very powerful technique) for you.  You can now have it “text” customers and prospects!  CRM programs can do these tasks “automatically” for you and a whole bunch more.

Using this technique our agency partner is averaging $3.50 for every customer he writes.  His average commission is $450.  He is growing 25% per year. On autopilot!

Would you like more information about the system he uses?  About the power of automatic phone messages?  Anything else about marketing?  Give me a call at 405-702-0901 and I’ll share what I know!
