Nurture Customers on Autopilot

Written by OAA Admin | Jul 4, 2013, 1:00:38 PM

We’ve been talking about the value of putting your new business marketing on autopilot.  The same benefits of using an autopilot (CRM program) to sell new customers should be used to communicate regularly with existing customers.

Why?  Well, if your customers think you care about them they are more likely to stay with you longer.  They will think you care when you talk to them.  How often should you talk to them?  Once a year at renewal?  That won’t hack it – they will just think you want their money.  Twice a year when the auto policy renews?  Not even close.

If you really want to nurture customers, think about contacting them every month.  But you’re busy running an agency and selling insurance.  How do you do that?  With an autopilot.

If you have a CRM program (Customer Relationship Management) you can email your customers, text them, mail them a letter, postcard, newsletter, quote for a new product or anything else you can think of.  You can automatically leave them a phone message.  You can send them a video email.  Anything that doesn’t require your actual physical presence can be done using CRM.

So, to autopilot your nurturing program, design a year’s worth of contacts at once.  Or two year’s.   Mix it up and use some email and some printed material.   Today you can even automate texting!  I think leaving a voicemail is very powerfully effective (and it’s very easy to do).

How?  Simply write the emails and letters. Prerecord the voicemail. Prewrite the texts. And then schedule them to go out at the appropriate time in your CRM program. The program will do the rest!

Now, sit back and relax, knowing that your customers are hearing from you regularly and your autopilot is doing all the work!
